D1The former choir organ was built between 1894 and 1895 by Bonneau and Béasse. It originally had ten stops divided over two manuals of 54 keys each and a German-style pedalboard of 30 notes. The whole instrument, fully enclosed and expressive, was housed in a neo-Gothic case without façade pipes, except for the shutters of the swell box visible on the front. In 1955, the organ was sold and later reassembled by Joseph Beuchet in the church of Saint-Pair in Ducey (Manche). The present choir organ was built by Philippe Hartmann in 1966, and the shutters of the case were painted by Roger Chapelet, official painter of the French Navy (and father of Francis Chapelet). Originally, it was a small baroque-style positive with seven stops on a single manual and a permanently coupled pedalboard. It was restored and enlarged by Dominique Lalmand in 1996, who added two pedal stops placed in a separate case behind the organ.Source: l’inventaire natoional and l’église Saint-SéverinPhotosVincent Hildebrandt
